For all those interested in a neanderthal’s opinion of the 21st century, I’ve thrown Buna, from my comic series “Fire,” into the modern era to satisfy that need. She’s taking a 30 thousand year old look at a new world. This is not cannon to “Fire,” I’m just doing this for fun.

Fire is a story about a homo sapien girl named Matay and Neanderthal girl named Buna who accidently meet each other and, despite their differences, find ways to get along though it is not easy at first. At the point in time this story takes place homo sapiens had been moving through Europe for a long time but might have still had dark skin, hair and eyes. Neanderthals on the other hand were most likely fair skinned with different hair and eye colors. Neanderthals and homos sapiens had also been interbreeding for at least 5000 years by this point.

Hominids is a prehistoric action-adventure comic where Neanderthals are at the top of the food chain and humans are struggling to survive. The story follows a small pack of hunter/gatherer Neanderthals who stumble upon a sick human in their territory. They take him in, not knowing he'll change their lives forever!
