Eyes is a story meant to teach young children to treat those different than them with respect and equal value. Mandla, a zebra born with strabismus, struggles to be socially accepted into his herd. Everything about him seems to scare others…his red hooves, eye color, and of course his left eye itself. When his mentality and idea of “equal” is changed for the worse, he walks upon the savannah never knowing he was wrongly treated his whole life.
