Ten years ago, 12-year old Rio Anderson killed a Mad Mambabarang*, who had enslaved an entire forest of Mahiwaga* creatures for almost a century. Now he's 22, and the Mad One has somehow returned. Wishing to take revenge, the Mad One targets everybody Rio cares about, starting with his boyfriend, the Tikbalang* Siglo, and his childhood friend Gina Marquez. With the help of his friends and allies, old and new, Rio must find the Mad One before his power grows too great, and figure out exactly how this creature of great evil was able to return from the dead.
